Fun book. A book coming up on the heals of Harry Potter.
I tried to win a copy of this book on Good Reads but was not one of the chosen few. Encouraged to read it, I downloaded a copy to my iPad yesterday. It was difficult to put it aside for sleep last night, and I have ignored all of today's chores in order to find out the remaining secrets. Anne helps granddaughter, Ellie, with a school project that was meant to be simple interviews with grandparents. Working together, they uncover new family secrets, and Ann finally faces and fully comprehends deeper family secrets from her past. This book stirs within the reader both love and hate, heartache and happiness. Ann and Ellie are two characters who will remain with me for a long time. There is one element at the end of the story that leaves me puzzled, and I hope there is perhaps a follow-up book later. But for now, thanks, Kelley Simmons for a deeply moving, emotional and powerful story.
